Birthday Climb/ Family Camp 2014 @ Mt. Pulag

It was just another ordinary Friday at home. In the morning, we had our prayer and devotion. After an hour, I was ready to take my wife to her office using my UB motorcycle, it’ll take about 20 to 25 minutes back and forth. Next  was my daughter, I prepared her breakfast, her snacks at her DVBS, took her a bath, dressed her a neat attire for her DVBS graduation and took her to school. Badly, during the program, I was attacked by an LBM, hehe! After a couple of hours, graduation ended then I received a call from my wife as she surprised me that we were going to have a Birthday Climb for our daughter at Mt. Pulag! A week ago when she already told to her officemates about our plan for Rhian’s 7th birthday, and it is a climb at Mt. Pulag, but the problem was the budget. So we were no longer hoping for a birthday climb and many of her colleagues discouraged her, because it’s too risky to bring a child to the highest peak of Luzon. Before Friday, one of her officemates said that she will lend a money for our trip, but, I considered it as a “fifty-fifty” so I was still not hoping. The next day, that was Friday, and as I’ve said, I was surprised! And I just can’t simply imagine that after all the discouragements we heard, there’s someone who believed! And she not just believed, she helped, in the most difficult way of helping – financially. We really thank God for using her Christian officemate to make this Pulag dream come true. Yes, it’s my dream to be with my family at the top of the 2nd highest mountain in the Philippines. The first time I went there, I already made a promise to myself, “I’ll come back together with my wife and my daughter,” Finally, it is no longer a dream, but a memory that will stay in our hearts and minds, forever!

Here are some photos using our mobile phone and a 5MP digicam.

This video clip is now part of the orientation, as Ma'am Daisy played this video before Ma'am Emerita speaks.
A big thanks to the man for creating this awesome video, surely more outdoor enthusiasts will encourage to visit Mt. Pulag once they watch this.- Prelude of Dreams (Mt. Pulag National Park)

We didn't have "start-trek shots" because rain poured suddenly with the corn-sized hailstones hitting us during the first part of our trek.

Wearing our shirt camp.

Actually, there were three objectives in our activity;
Experience the beauty of God's creations
Acknowledging His strength within us
Learn its metaphor

 We woke up at 4AM and God granted us a clearing.

 She conquered Mt. Pulag with her trekking stick! Praise God!
